Reflecting Back & Looking Forward… Let's do this: 2015!

Wow! What a year! Am I right? So much has occurred in our little Bushwood bubble since last year at this time, and I’m sure that as you reflect on your 2014, you feel the same way. With each passing year as we grow older, time seems to speed up. Sometimes, it’s really important just to SLOW-DOWN and really appreciate the present moment and what we have achieved, and also appreciate what we have yet to achieve, as these accomplishments and goals are what keep us on the path, loving the journey, striving forward, always evolving.

For us in Bushwood, as with all musicians, a lot of our time is spent with Music; playing our instruments, thinking about notes, arrangements, and new song ideas, and ingesting aural pleasures from other artists & bands as sources of inspiration for our own creativity. 2014 was a year of rebuilding our band essentially from the ground up. Taking it apart and reassembling it for the greatest possible outcome and progression forward. Towards the end of 2013, we got a new drummer in Joey Bitton and if you don’t already know, if music was represented by a human body, the drummer would be the spine. We also initiated Diego Godoy on Keyboards, and Alex Coombs on Trumpet, Guitar, & Vocals, and are stronger for it.
With this new lineup we have strived to transcend the status as 'bar band that plays mostly covers' into a full-on original act. We’ve been spreading our proverbial wings and playing more outside of our comfort zone, have taken on private parties & events, and in the coming months are opening up for a few of the acts in our iTunes library including Rebelution (2/6), Matisyahu (2/15), Inner Circle (2/4 with our good friends Spred The Dub!), and Jeff Beck & ZZ Top! Check the SHOW section on our website for more details.

THIS FRIDAY (tomorrow 1/16) we take the Pavilion Stage @ Old School Square in Delray (FREE SHOW! 2 sets 7:30-10pm) to pave the way for our return there on Feb 6th, when we’ll play the Delray Beach Garlic Fest Main Stage opening up for one of our favorite bands Rebelution!!!
FYI: There will also be an after-party on 2/6 at 3rd & 3rd with our homies Artikal Sound System & Roots Shakedown!
As we roll on into 2015, we want to thank you for having our back, for supporting our passion of creating art with our original music. We have amazing things in store for 2015 including brand new recorded music. You may have seen we've been working at Haze Street Studios with Drew Keys producing a brand new 2-song EP! Songs are "Unchained" and "Hey Girl" and our plan is to release them by the beginning of February! The're currently being mixed & mastered, and we can't wait to share them! Stay tuned...

We wish you all the best and sending out lots of love & light for 2015!

Peace & Love,
Adam & the rest of the Bushwood guys

"Reggae has a philosophy, you know? It's not just entertainment. There's an idea behind it, a way of life behind the music, which is a positive way of life. A reminder to make each day a positive day. To wake up and truly live."
